Nearly 24 hours after a fire broke out in Southampton, emergency crews are still at the scene. Smoke drifted across Western Docks yesterday as the blaze took hold of 50,000 tonnes of scrap metal.

Firefighters tackle blaze at Southampton docks
Firefighters have been dealing with a large scrap metal fire at Southampton docks.
The fire has been ongoing for five hours with around 40 firefighters tackling it. Plumes of smoke can be seen across the city.
Crews are now expected to remain on the scene through the day and overnight.
