Car transporter goes up in flames on M3

A car transporter has caught alight, causing major disruption to two major motorways in the south during this morning's rush hour.

The car transporter went up in flames on the M3 at junction two of the motorway, close to Chilworth, just before 7am.

The link road between the M27 eastbound and the M3 northbound is closed, preventing any traffic joining the M3 north from the M27 east.

Luckily, the driver was uninjured.

Diversions were put in place with drivers urged to take alternative routes. All lanes are now open.
