Fire crews tackle large blaze at warehouse in Sittingbourne

Fire crews have worked through the night to tackle a major blaze on an industrial estate in Sittingbourne.

The alarm was raised at 7pm on Saturday. Crews attended a warehouse at the Eurolink Industrial Estate, with some reports suggesting it belonged to a recycling company on West Lane.

Although the fire was contained, three fire engines remain at the site and crews are damping down any remaining hot spots.

No casualties have been reported and the cause is not yet known.

People who live or work in Kemsley and Iwade have been warned to keep their windows and doors closed as a precaution, due to levels of smoke in the area.
