Sixty firefighters tackle scrap yard blaze
Sixty firefighters and appliances from across Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire have been battling a fire in a scrap yard. The blaze broke out at the W & S recycling centre in Candy Lane, just off the A31 near Wimborne. Richard Slee reports.
The blaze is located just off the A31 near Wimborne
The alarm was raised at 5.30am by a security guard monitoring CCTV in the yard. Fire crews managed to bring the flames quickly under control and no-one was hurt.
The scrap yard area manager Simon Perry said the cause of the fire is unknown.
