Car destroyed by fire during rush hour on the A31

A car has been destroyed by fire during rush hour this morning on the A31.

Firefighters were called to the eastbound carriageway just before Stoney Cross in the New Forest.

The driver managed to escape unharmed.

Crews from Burley Fire Station and Ringwood Fire Station were called to the scene.

Tailbacks were reported as far as Ringwood.
