Sister in fresh plea on anniversary of Rita Ellis murder

It was a murder that shocked the nation and baffled detectives- a 19 year old airwoman from RAF Halton in Buckinghamshire, assaulted and strangled by an unknown attacker. The case was never solved.

Rita Ellis was killed on the night of November 11th 1967. Her body was discovered the following morning close to Rowborough Copse, near to what was then a coal yard.

Now, Rita's family has made an emotional appeal for someone to come forward with information.

Cary spoke to Rita's sister, Tina Streeter who now lives in Sussex, and Peter Beirne from the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Review team.
