Pat Wilson and Gillian Burford, from Deal, describe themselves as "two slightly mad 60-something grans."

The grannies are taking part in the 'Rome or Bust Car Challenge' and will be heading from Deal to the Italian capital in just over 3 days in a car that costs no more than £200.

They're raising money for a local charity called Martha Trust which provides residential and respite care for profoundly disabled people - so far they've raised over £4500.

Both also confess that neither of them have ever changed a tyre and need the manual to open the bonnet.
