A Hastings-born popstar has returned to his home town to help complete the latest stage in the restoration of the pier.

The pier was destroyed by fire six years ago but its £14-million rebuild is almost complete.

Madness singer, Suggs, was surprised to be asked to help complete the latest stage of its restoration.
