Nurse convicted of raping unconscious patients in Oxford
A senior male nurse who filmed himself raping unconscious patients at a hospital in Oxfordshire has today pleaded guilty to a series of sex offences against multiple victims at locations across the county.
Andrew Hutchinson, 29, of Garford, near Abingdon, Oxfordshire was a senior nurse at the Emergency Departments of Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital when he was arrested in November 2013 on suspicion of voyeurism offences at a local leisure centre.
His arrest led to the detection of further offences - including raping two unconscious female patients - through images found on devices including a mobile phone, computer equipment, memory stick and camera.
The victims of the sex attacks had been unaware of the crimes committed against them.
Most of the victims of the voyeurism offences had been unaware they were being recorded or filmed at the White Horse Leisure Centre, Abingdon.
Police undertook extensive investigations to identify all the victims of offences in all images.
All identifiable victims have now been contacted by Thames Valley Police and have been offered appropriate support.
Hutchinson admitted all 27 counts against him at at Oxford Crown Court.
