The Trooper Potts VC Trust was set up in 2010 to create an appropriate memorial to the only man from Reading to be awarded the Victoria Cross.

This was for his deeds in Gallipoli 21-23 August 1915 when he rescued his comrade, Trooper Arthur Andrews from certain death over a period of 48 hours.

The trust decided to commission a sculpture depicting the rescue. Liverpool sculptor, Tom Murphy, was selected to design the sculpture.

This film ( just over 11 minutes) was taken in January 2015 when most of the sculpture was complete but refinement work was still to be undertaken by Tom.

The memorial will be in place in central Reading by 4th October 2015.
