Nazi bomb souvenir blown-up on beach
Bomb disposal experts have detonated a German incendiary device on the beach in Worthing after the device was found by a man clearing his uncle's house.
Peter Penfold found the bomb in the lounge but had initially dismissed the device as a fake and moved it into the hallway.
He didn't report it to the authorities until the following day when a friend spotted Nazi insignia on the side.
They moved it to the back garden and the Royal Navy's Fleet Diving Squadron bomb disposal unit was scrambled.
They were able to safely dispose of it by detonating it on the beach in a controlled explosion.
