A woman got revenge on one of the bullies who made her life a misery at school - when she stood him up after he asked her out on a date.

Louisa Manning, 22, who studies at Oxford University, had a miserable time at school when she was aged 12 when a group of bullies dubbed her "manbeast".

She was taken aback when one of the bullies asked her out eight years later after meeting at a university ball.

Surprisingly, the 22-year-old agreed to go on the date - but she was not looking for romance.

She arrived early at the restaurant where they agreed to meet, before giving the waitress a photograph of herself and asking her to pass it on to the date.

On the back she wrote a message:

Louisa's note seemed to resonate with the man, who apologised for his past behaviour in a message on Facebook and wished her well for the future.
