Dramatic cliff rescue - coastguard interview

A man and a woman who fell from a cliff on the Isle of Wight are recovering after being rescued by coastguards. The incident happened late on the afternoon of Tuesday 2nd October. The police and ambulance service were also on the scene.

The coastguard helicopter was needed to airlift the woman to Southampton General Hospital for treatment. It is believed the couple had been on a walk and tried to descend to the beach, when events took a turn for the worse.

Station Officer Ray Morey from the Needles Coastguard Station described what happened in an interview at the scene on Tuesday night.
