Timelapse shows demolition at Bermondsey railway junction
It may feel like it has been going on forever, but a stunning new timelapse shows the progress being made at the construction of the new railway junction at Bermondsey.
The demolition - preparations for which started in April before it kicked off in earnest in June - is part of government plans to transform travel between north and south London.
Railway viaducts that once carried trains to Charing Cross and central London have been razed in preparation for the construction of a massive new junction on a site.
The new junction will feature a "dive under" - similar to a motorway flyover - that will allow more trains to run into London Bridge.
The Bermondsey Dive Under is due to be completed in 2017 as part of the government-sponsored Thameslink programme.
