More than 50 balloons filled the London skyline at dawn today to raise money for charity. They took off from Shoreditch Park in Hackney for an hour-long flight at around 5am this morning.
The stunt, which was the first of its kind in more than two decades, was to raise awareness of the Lord Mayor's Appeal which is supporting Scope and Mencap. There were a number of novelty balloons, including a minion and a special Lord Mayor's Appeal balloon.
The unlicensed events unfolded on Saturday night at Clapham Common and Tooting Bec Common.
