Windscreen smashed with pig’s trotter

Police have launched an investigation after a woman found her car windscreen smashed with the number 666 scrawled on it and a pig's trotter and three pigs hearts thrown inside.

It was discovered on Monday when she had parked her car in Hemstal Road in West Hampstead overnight.

The previous week she said the windscreen had been smashed with a brick, but didn’t report this to officers at the time.

Police are now investigating but say there is no evidence to suggest it is racially motivated, and are treating it as an isolated incident.
