Jilted girlfriend given a Christmas to remember
Until a few days ago, 23-year-old Zascha Friis from High Wycombe was facing a very lonely Christmas. The Danish nanny and part-time student had just broken up with her boyfriend and couldn't afford the £350 flight home to Denmark to spend it with her family.
In order to keep herself busy she put up an advert on social media, asking about any volunteering opportunities over the festive period.
Hundreds of people responded with ideas, but instead of Zascha helping others at Christmas, they decided to help her.
An appeal was started to raise the money for her airfare. Goulam Freed helped organise the collection. Zascha has now raised enough money, but the donations and good will are still flooding in. Goulam will be giving the surplus money to charity.
