Southwark's house of wax
In October, if you walk down Southwark Street, close to London Bridge you'll see a life size building made of wax slowly melting away.
' A pound of flesh for 50p' has been created by artist, Alex Chinnick and is part of the Merge Festival.
The exhibition celebrates the history of an old candle making factory which was based on Bankside 200 years ago.
The house was constructed using 8,000 bricks and will be melted manually with heating apparatus throughout this month.
Over the last year, Chinneck has been working alongside wax manufacturers, chemists and engineers in order to produce these highly believable wax bricks.
A Pound of Flesh can be seen until 26 October at 40 Southwark Street, London, SE1 9HP.
