Sea of bowler hats on show in Hyde Park
Hyde Park was a sea of bowler hats today for the 90th annual parade of the Combined Cavalry Old Comrades. More than 2,000 serving and former soldiers of the Cavalry and Yeomanry regiments wore black bowler hats and dark suits rather than their ceremonial uniforms and carried closed umbrellas.
The King Of Jordan, King Abdullah II ibn al-Hussain, laid a wreath to fallen soldiers and took the salute at the Cavalry Memorial. He is Colonel in Chief of The Light Dragoons. Relatives of soldiers killed in the last year attended the service as their names were read out in remembrance.
