CQC to change inspections
The Care Quality Commission is set to introduce radical changes to the way hospitals in England are inspected. Following on from the review carried out by Sir Bruce Keogh, it will be introduced by the end of the month.
Report to criticise Basildon hospital
Basildon and Thurrock Hospital in Essex is one of 14 hospital trusts bracing itself for tough criticism over thousands of needless deaths in a key report next week.
An NHS medical director is set to detail failings in the trusts thought to have had 'excess' death rates going back years.
The report is expected to describe poor care, medical errors and management blunders.
