Cycling revolution has arrived as census shows 1 in 4 road users are cyclists
The cycling revolution is here and now the full extent to which cyclists are taking over London has been revealed.
The biggest ever census of bike use shows a quarter of road users during the morning rush hour are cyclists.
On some routes they even outnumber all other vehicles.The study for City Hall reveals that Theobalds Road in Holborn is the city's busiest bike street.
In the morning rush hour, they made up 64 per cent of all vehicles passing through.
On Kennington Park Road, which runs between Kennington and Oval, 57 per cent of road users were cyclists.
They accounted for almost half (49%) of the total number using Old Street in Shoreditch during the morning peak.
