Sir Christopher Wren's house goes on sale for first time
What was once the home of one of the world's most famous architects, Sir Christopher Wren, is up for sale for the first time.
The price of the Hampton Court Home with gardens leading onto the River Thames is on the market for £4.25 million.
The architect lived in The Old Court House during the early 18th century and boasts most of its work by him after he carried out an almost complete overhaul during 1706.
Sir Christopher was a Royal Surveyor for almost 50 years, because of this in 1708 he was given a 50-year lease on the house by Queen Anne, in lieu of salary arrears for building St Paul's Cathedral.
The six-bedroom house which has three bathrooms boasts a marble fireplace put in by the architect, the same as he designed for King William III in Hampton Court Palace.
