Pupils from Haverstock secondary school in Camden are aiming to raise £25,000 over the summer to help vulnerable children in Uganda.
The cash will go towards a new classroom at the Mtaala School which provides education to youngsters affected by poverty and war, including former child soldiers.
The Mtaala foundation was set up by London movie producer Nick Taussig, whose films include Anuvahood and Sket. He said:"Every young person deserves a second chance. Mtaala helps former child soldiers and other war-affected young people in Uganda get their lives back".
Mr Taussig has been working with the Haverstock pupils on fundraising ideas and arranged internet hook-ups between Camden and Uganda.
