It was land ahoy for a superyacht in East London this morning.

The multi-million pound boat, weighing in at 56 tonnes, will be among the exhibits in next month's London Boat Show at ExCeL London.

A huge 500-tonne crane had been brought in to do the heavy work and the lifting operation took about an hour.

It is the first of more than 20 superyachts to be lifted from the water and transported into the exhibition hall over the next three days.

The London Boat Show, now in its 59th year, opens on 12th January 2013 and is a showcase for both British and international boat manufacturers.

Murray Ellis, the Managing Director of the National Boat Shows, told ITV London: "It's a unique setting ... and we put everything under one roof. It's the first show in the calendar of boat shows worldwide, it's the place to be, and we're very proud of it."
