Uber facing uncertain future in London as licence is only renewed for four months

Uber is facing an uncertain future in London after its licence was only renewed for four months.

Uber launched just before the London Olympics and has expanded to more than 25 cities in Britain.

The company's success has been down both to its smartphone app and its ability to undercut rivals on price.

Its current five year licence comes to an end next Tuesday. The four month extension will allow TfL to consider a number of issues.
