Why Kevin Pietersen never wants to play for England again
Kevin Pietersen has ruled out playing for England again, telling ITV London he could do without the 'nonsense'.
Pietersen was controversially dropped when Alistair Cook was captain, but there has been speculation that he could return under Joe Root.
However, the batsman told ITV London:
He adds that he's not expecting a call from Root:
Pietersen will play county cricket for the first time in two years this summer, when he rejoins Surrey for the T20.
Recently the ECB have announced plans for a city-based Twenty20 competition in England to rival the IPL and the Big Bash, in what is the most radical overhaul in the history of English cricket.
Pietersen believes the English game needs to evolve.
Pietersen was speaking at Wentworth in Surrey where he'll be taking part in the celebrity pro am at the PGA Championship in May. He was there today supporting the charity Ray of Sunshine, which grants wishes for young people who bravely fight a serious or life-limiting illness.
