Woman's missing cat handed to family who won't give it back
A woman whose microchipped cat was re-homed by the RSPCA after it went missing has now been told by its new owners that she cannot have him back.
Booba was found just three streets from her home in Cricklewood, north London, about two months after going missing, reports The Telegraph.
He was found looking "hungry and severely bedraggled".
The RSPCA was called and they took the animal to their north London clinic in Finchley for treatment, before being handed over to charity Cats Protection for re-homing.
Booba’s owner Marine Coucoulis discovered online that her cat had been found and re-homed.
And she was left distraught when she was told the cat’s new owners had grown attached to him and would not give him up.
It is believed Booba’s owner was not tracked down because he was registered in France through a French animal database.
Ms Coucoulis, a French national, moved from Paris to London with Booba 18 months ago.
