Muslim school fails Ofsted inspection over extreme library books promoting stoning to death

A private Muslim school in east London has failed an Ofsted inspection after investigators found extreme books in its library - promoting stoning to death.

The watchdog's inspectors say they discovered three books promoting inequality of women and illegal punishment during a visit to Jamiatul Ummah School in east London.

The books found at the private secondary school, in Tower Hamlets, east London, also undermined the rule of British law, according to inspectors.

The all-boys school, costing £3,400-a-year, says it has removed the books following the inspection and is carrying out an audit on the rest of its materials.

The Ofsted report, published on January 4, read:

The surprise investigation at the school, which teaches 158 boys aged 11-16, was carried out on November 25.> It is the third inspection the school has failed since October 2014.> The library has been locked since July but inspectors said students previously had access to the books.> The school said in a statement:
