Boris Johnson locked horns with the Labour MP who hopes to replace him today in a bitter exchange over Tube strikes.

Sadiq Khan MP claimed walkouts by the Tube unions more than doubled during Johnson's eight years as London mayor compared to his predecessor, Labour's Ken Livingstone.

Khan and Johnson used Twitter to attack each other as the RMT union announced a fresh round of strikes.
