Armed police respond to reports of a gunman in Canary Wharf

Armed police responded to reports of a man with a gun on the loose around Canary Wharf.

A 29-year-old man was arrested this afternoon shortly afterwards by police at West India Quay station on suspicion of possessing a firearm. He remains in custody. In a statement, police said:

Video and pictures posted on social media show that the man was dressed as Marvel comics character Winter Soldier.
