Segway 'thief' sent flying after being tripped up by have-a-go hero
The dramatic moments a have-a-go-hero stepped in to trip up a man who appears to be attempting to rob a Segway has been captured on video.
The man was walking up the street in Bermondsey, south London, when he spotted the man fleeing out of a street carrying the device.
He immediately follows him and manages to dramatically trip him up and push him to the ground. After tumbling and shouting the would-be thief drops the Segway and flees whilst another man - who appears to be the original owner - picks it up.
The footage was posted by motorcyclist László Cs?ke and uploaded to YouTube earlier this month. It has been viewed more than 30,000 times.
A fortnight ago police released a statement confirming Segway boards, the hands free version of the scooters, were illegal to ride under 180-year-old legislation.
