Large fire breaks out at travellers' site in south east London
Six fire engines and 30 firefighters are dealing with a large fire on a travellers' site in south east London.
Firefighters were called at about 3.15pm to the Thistlebrook site in Abbey Wood where two caravans and a house were on fire.
The caravans have been completely destroyed and the ground floor and roof of a house is on fire.
Firefighters received 999 calls from 22 different people and it is believed the smoke could be seen from as far away as Dartford.
No-one has been reported injured so far.
Firefighters said gas cylinders were at the scene and were cooled down they may have exploded when exposed to heat.
Police say they are also on the scene implementing road closures.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
