Nurse resuscitates heart attack grandfather after he had protected her from Tube abuser
A nurse performed emergency treatment on a 65 year-old grandfather who had suffered a heart attack at Uxbridge tube station, just minutes after he had stepped in to prevent her being abused on a train.
43 year-old Polly Collins was travelling to work at Hillingdon Hospital last Saturday when a fellow passenger took offence that she was using her phone. He began shouting and abusing her before Stephen Breed intervened and told him to leave her alone.
After Stephen and Polly got off the train at Uxbridge, he collapsed with a heart attack. The nurse saw him on the floor, grabbed the station's defibrillator and began to resuscitate him. When paramedics arrived, they took Stephen to Harefield Hospital where doctors put a stent in his heart. He has now been discharged.
