Young carers exhibit their work at KPMG

An art exhibition showcasing the work of young carers across the capital is being held at KMPG in Canary Wharf throughout December. It was produced by CREATE, a charity that helps transform lives using art.

CREATE assigned professional artists to the carers so they could help document their world through the medium of photography. The images examined their identity and what it means to be young and having to care for someone. The project took a year to complete.

Over the last decade there has been a 20% rise in the number of young carers. Due to the impact on their lives, its been reported 75% of them experienced problems maintaining relationships, with many enduring some kind of bullying.

The exhibition is being held at KPMG, 15 Canada Square, E14 5GL.

Nicky Goulder, CREATE's Chief Executive explains what the charity aims to achieve with this exhibition.
