Fast food firm sends burger and chips into space

A fast food business in Fulham launched a burger and chips 112,000 feet into the sky in a bid to become the first to send a meal into space.

The founders of Chosen Bun burger attempted the stunt for the second time after a camera failed during the first journey in June.

A huge balloon filled with helium took the meal on its journey into space and a camera filmed it travelling at 35ft per second.

The video has been viewed more than 30,000 times since being posted to YouTube on Wednesday.

Despite being 328,000 ft short of the recognised space boundary, the burger and chips reached staggering heights.

The mission cost the pair, Andy Shovel and Peter Sharman, around £2,000 and was completed two weeks ago.
