London's most expensive 'country cottage'
A luxury mansion, nestled among the trees on its own country estate has gone on sale for a record-breaking £105 million, 640 times the average house price. But this is a property with a difference; it's also in the heart of London.
Although the grounds of Park House in South Kensington stretch no further than half an acre, it's been described as "the finest home to come onto the market in 25 years." It's got six bedrooms, five bathrooms, and seven reception rooms, including a whopping 48 ft drawing room.
The private estate is currently owned by Professor Gert-Rudolf Flick, the German heir to the Daimler Benz auto fortune. The 70-year-old is said to be worth £350 million, and bought Park House for £4.5million in 1986. He's now selling up with agents Beauchamp Estates for £105 million - the most expensive property on the open market.
It's 275 times the price of the average home in London, and one of only nine homes to fetch as many figures in the capital. But despite all this, it's not expected to stay on the market for long.
