The sun shone but the last weekend treat on most swimmers' minds was a dip today in an outside swimming pool. But tell that to hundreds of hardy souls who flocked to Tooting Bec Lido. Wave after wave of swimsuit clad, shivering individuals took deep breaths and plunged into water struggling to reach 4 degrees. For some it was the coldest swim of their lives. Others boasted it was actually quite warm: they had done it all before in truly icy conditions.
