Parents in Salford fighting to keep council run nurseries

Parents of young children in Salford have been campaigning to safeguard the long term future of its five council run nurseries.

The authority says government cuts to early years funding have left it with a one and a half million pound shortfall.

Closures of all five nurseries would affect 350 children and mean 100 jobs losses.
