Giant Meccano Liverbird unveiled in Liverpool

It's almost 40 years since Meccano - the construction set that kept generations of kids occupied for hours - was last made at their famous factory in Liverpool.

Well, now Meccano's back in the city...sort of.

The site of the former works is being transformed into Liverpool's newest retail park.

The developers wanted the new shopping centre to have a special landmark - and guess what they chose to make it.
