Mystery as CCTV captures cows 'moo-ching' through village in the middle of the night
Residents in Poynton in Cheshire have been left scratching their heads after CCTV captured a herd of cows parading down their street in the middle of the night.
The pictures show dozens of cows wander over to front gardens and help themselves to a late-night lawn snack.
One of the residents said: "There was manure all over the road and nobody could understand how it came to be there.
"So one of the neighbours checked their CCTV and we couldn't believe it when we saw what happened.
"There are a few farms nearby but there's never been a herd of cows on the street like this.
"We don't know if they were brought here or whether they escaped - it was a Friesian cold night and they may have been looking for some shelter.
"But this is Poynton not Pamploma.
"We're trying to get to the bottom of the mystery, but we don't want to milk the situation."
