"We do not want Pip’s life and suffering to have been in vain"

The family of a 15-year-old girl with advanced anorexia who died after being hit by a train say they don't want her death to be in vain.

Pippa McManus had been treated at the Priory Hospital in Altrincham but was allowed home.

She managed to walk to Gatley station in Stockport where she stepped in front of a train.

On an earlier visit, Pippa had left 'goodbye letters' to her family and dog saying she couldn't 'fight anorexia anymore'.
