Recycling boss jailed for environmental crimes

The boss of a North West recycling firm has been jailed for crimes against the environment.

Barry Kilroe is starting a 15 month sentence after the rubbish he was paid to recycle was left untouched at sites across the country.

Two huge fires broke out at two of the sites leaving Firefighters battling for weeks to bring the infernos under control.

The Environment Agency say Kilroe has left hundreds of thousands of tonnes of rubbish behind. Matt O'Donoghue reports.
