Former Mayor of Rochdale Norman Smith MBE dies

The former Mayor of Rochdale, Norman F Smith MBE has died.

He died on Wednesday evening at Rochdale Infirmary after a long illness. The 84-year-old who was also a town councillor was the younger brother of Cyril Smith, the former Rochdale MP.
