Heading to the top of the world

The fundraising efforts started by Steve Prescott are continuing. The former St Helens rugby league star began a series of challenges after being diagnosed with bowel cancer ten years ago. He died in November 2013. The foundation set up in his name continues to raise funds for cancer research. Now his wife, Linzi and their son Taylor are picking up the mantle by taking on Mount Everest - to raise money for the Christie, Manchester. She came into Granada Reports' studios with Dr Mark Saunders from The Christie Hospital . He treated Steve for many years BEFORE he underwent a pioneering five-organ transplant shortly before his death. Lucy and Tony asked Linzi how her preparations were coming along for next week's expedition.
