Breaking: Police dealing with industrial fire in Birkenhead

Merseyside Police is advising members of the public to avoid the Price Street area of Birkenhead after a fire at an industrial unit.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and Merseyside Police are on the scene of the fire on Price Street, which was reported just before 11am today.

Members of the public are advised to stay away from the area if driving or on foot while emergency services deal with the incident.

A cordon has been established and road closures are in place including Price Street, St Edwards Close, St Edwards Mews, and Beckwith Street at its junction with Duke Street.

Some properties within the cordon have been evacuated as a precaution.
