Timelapse shows Chester's new cinema and arts venue taking shape

Timelapse footage reveals the construction of the cinema inside Storyhouse, Chester’s new cultural centre.

It took seven weeks to film the building of the ‘lightbox’ structure that will house the 100 seat ‘boutique’ cinema.

It required 150 tonnes of structural steel, 18 tonnes of plasterboard and 96 units of cast glass to complete.

When it opens at the former Odeon building next year, Storyhouse will bring together theatres, a cinema, library, café and bars.

The city's been without a cinema for 10 years.

"This is a fascinating look at Storyhouse’s unique cinema space.

"The film really captures the scale of the project transforming the Odeon building into a world class cultural centre."
