Four injured after pensioner drove WRONG way on M60

Four people have been injured after a pensioner drove the wrong way on the M60 in Manchester.

The car was involved in a crash at Carrington yesterday evening. It was spotted entering the motorway some 5 miles earlier at Cheadle.

Police say they received more than 20 calls from motorists and passengers concerned about what was happening. Many said they had to swerve out of the way. Despite the collision police tweeted to say all injuries were minor.

The driver, reported to be in his eighties was taken to Salford Royal Hospital and kept in for observation overnight.
