Man who died after being hit by car in Liverpool is named

Police have named a man who died after he was hit by a car in Liverpool on Tuesday as 52-year-old Mark Whyte from Aigburth.

A 26-year-old man from Widnes who was driving the car was arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving and was bailed but has been recalled to prison for breaching the terms of his license.

Police want anyone who saw the incident on Aigburth Road to contact them.
