Police appeal for witnesses after man's body found on M55

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man's body was found on the M55 early this morning.

Officers were called to the scene after the body was discovered between Junctions 1 and 3 near Higher Bartle Bridge in Woodplumpton at two o'clock.

They found the body of a 55 year old man in the carriageway, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner.
