Police officer hailed 'hero' for checking in on 'lonely' couple

Police are trained to expect the unexpected, but when PC Stu Ockwell responded to an emergency call at the home of two pensioners in Greater Manchester, he feared the worst.

One of the 95-year-olds had dialled 999 saying they needed help. What happened next has made the officer something of a hero.
